Core Return Policy

IMPORTANT: Core Return Instructions and Policy

Please note the following regarding your core return:

  • You are responsible for scheduling your core return within 45 days of the shipped date.

  • If not scheduled within this period, you will be charged the core fee. Cores may be returned for credit for up to 12 months from the original delivery date.

  • For cores valued at $1,000.00 or more, Powertrain Company LLC charges 50% of the core fee upfront. Once the core has been received at the vendor's warehouse, processed, and all required return documentation has been provided to Powertrain Company LLC, the 50% core fee paid by the customer will be refunded. Please note: From the time the core is picked up, it may take 2 to 4 weeks for the refund to be processed and issued.
  • The core you return must be an exact match for the core you purchased from Powertrain Company, or the Manufacturer will charge you the full core amount.

Core Return Process:

  1. After submitting your Core Return Request, Powertrain Company will email you a Bill of Lading (BOL) and detailed instructions within 1-2 Business Days. Forms received after 4:00 PM CST will not be processed until the next business day.

  2. Print three (3) copies of the BOL:

    • One signed copy must be attached to the outside of the container.

    • One copy must be given to the driver.

    • One copy should be kept for your records.

  3. The driver will not pick up the core without the BOL. You must follow the BOL instructions exactly.

If Pickup Fails:

If the carrier does not arrive on the scheduled pickup date, please contact us the next business day:

We do not monitor all scheduled pickups, so your prompt communication is essential.

Note: Any shipments handed to a carrier without a Powertrain Company BOL will be shipped at your expense.

Additional Information:

  • Scheduled pickups are not guaranteed. Carriers may attempt pickup for up to 48 hours (2 business days) from the scheduled date.

  • You must retain your BOL copy with the PRO number sticker as proof of pickup.

    • If the core is not received and you cannot provide the PRO number, you will be responsible for both shipping and core costs.
