What is a Core, and why is it showing a Core charge on my invoice?

The powertrain remanufacturing industry depends on the recycling of old product (engine, transmission, etc.), this is called a Core. A Core charge is a deposit to insure that we receive the undamaged Core (old product) back for remanufacturing. Unlike most others in this industry, we don’t charge you upfront for your Core. The Core Charge that you see on the invoice is letting you know that if the Core is not returned within forty-five(45) days of receipt, then we will charge you the amount shown for your core. If your Core is returned within that 45 day window consider the fee covered by us.
